Some materials are instantly recognisable by touch. This yarn is one of them. Silk lends the yarn a subtle, warm sheen and surprising softness, while linen adds strength, a natural matte finish, and that characteristic "liveliness" that makes your finished work look handcrafted in the best possible way. Both materials are purely natural, and that's evident in the final product.
The yarn handles beautifully: it's gentle on your hands, doesn't slip uncontrollably, and holds its shape. The resulting creation has a texture that won't disappoint, whether viewed in daylight or in a photograph – the silky sheen shifts with the angle of light, adding a depth that synthetic fibres can never achieve.
250 metres per skein weighing approximately 45g means you have a substantial amount of material for larger projects, as well as for smaller works where every detail counts. The yarn's thickness is around 0.6 mm – substantial enough for the result to be clearly visible, yet still fine enough for intricate patterns.
A finished item made from natural silk and linen is a material that will enhance hundreds of hours of your work. Natural fibres age beautifully – they gain patina with each wash and wear, rather than wear and tear.
