Cotton thread * 30 * 250m / 1,600m

This is a 100% cotton yarn, made from high-quality Egyptian long-fiber cotton. The subsequent tanning and mercerization process increases not only the aesthetic but also the useful properties of this yarn. Loose short cotton fibers on the yarn are removed by flaming. Mercerization, which consists in wetting the yarn in sodium hydroxide, increases the strength and makes the appearance of the yarn more attractive. The cotton fibers swell and their cross section changes from kidney to circular. The result is an evenly rounded yarn with a pleasant feel and sheen similar to silk.

The yarn is twisted (twisted) mostly in triple, counterclockwise twist (Z), which is appreciated not only by lacemakers during bobbin-making, but also during machine sewing.

Cotton mercerized yarn is also suitable for crocheting or tatting. It has minimal flexibility, so the products made from it are already fixed and not subject to spontaneous withdrawal after work.
